Our team

Meet the heart of Dar Makai Surf Hotel:

Rachid Oumast - Agadir local, lifelong surfer, and passionate hospitality expert - is the
energetic co-owner of Dar Makai Surf Hotel and co-founder of Taddanga Surf School
(2010).
Born and raised by the waves of Morocco's Atlantic coast, Rachid has been surfing since
his youth, cultivating a deep love for the ocean and a commitment to sharing it with
others. With decades of experience in tourism, he brings warmth, expertise, and a
multilingual flair to every guest interaction.
Whether guiding surf sessions, sharing local insights, or ensuring unforgettable stays at
Dar Makai, Rachid's friendly spirit and dedication make him a cornerstone of Agadir's surf
and hospitality scene.

Simone Ernst - Co-Owner of Dar Makai Surf Hotel, co-founder of Taddanga Surf
School, and a driving force behind Agadir's surf community - traded the German winter
for Morocco's endless sunshine in 2008 and never looked back.
With a passion for travel, hospitality, and the ocean, Simone has dedicated over a decade
to creating unforgettable experiences for guests, blending European professionalism with
Moroccan warmth. Fluent in multiple languages, she brings meticulous care to every
detail, whether managing the surf school, curating the laid-back luxury of Dar Makai, or
sharing her love for Morocco's culture and waves.
